WORLD'S LARGEST HOUSE

If you ever thought your house was too big to clean or live in, imagine living in this monster of a residence!

This is the The Sultan of Brunei's palace called Istana Nurul Iman.
It has a whooping 1,788 rooms, 257 bathrooms, 5 swimming pools, stable for 200 ponies, garage for 110 cars, banquet hall for 4,000 guests and a mosque for 1,500 people!

The total area of the building works out to be 2,152,782 square feet . Personally that's a little bit too big for me!!

Why anyone would want and could do with all that space is beyond me.
The palace was built in 1984 and cost $1.4 billion dollars.

As well as the rooms and amenities it also has 44 stairwells, 18 elevators and wait for it ... a home to car collection point!

Can you imagine the utility bills and upkeep cost to run this!? I'm guessing this doesn't even faze the Sultan!

How about you? Could you live in a place like this?

I wouldn't want to clean it but I guess when you can afford such a huge house you can afford cleaning people.

I'd stay in, like, two rooms—just like we do in our own house. (Which is considerably smaller—LOL!!!)

Hopping over from Wordless Wednesday!

Actually, no, I would not want to live in a place like that no matter how much money was in the bank. I prefer small and cozy. Big houses are too big for me and I don't do two stories. Stairs and me do not get along. They see me coming and say...let's break her leg. So, small is better...less to clean, less to decorate...and I can hear everything that is going on in the whole house.

☼ Happy Wednesday ☼

I was going to leave a comment about the cleaning of it as well, seems that's a very common thought!

I couldn't live there, I don't think I'd feel very cosy in there!

It would probably be a little easier to live in for me than the world's smallest house!

That is BIG! Wow, I wonder how many people actually live in it? Of course being one of the richest countries in the world, the Sultan would definitely have to live up to the title. This is as grandiose as it gets :)

Wow, I think my family would love to live here, everyone with their own room and bathroom. Do you think I could get them to have family dinners together? I have 4 kids and a mother-in-law.

I would love a holiday there, but can't imagine having to upkeep such a home.

Good exercise enough just walking around the house though.

Well, you would never have to leave the house to go jogging, and its safer if you want to go for a midnight walk?
