SATURDAY CENTUS: Trapped

Jenny Matlock
Saturday Centus is a short story theme where you are given a different prompt each week, and have to work it into your story. The prompt for this week prompt is in bold. Here is my short story:

The reflection in the mirror
looked the same as it always did - a reflection of the other side. The other side being the world of the living that is.

Gemma's lost soul had been trapped inside the lounge mirror for years. When she passed away and walked on up the cloudy stairs to a new heavenly beginning she was faced with two doors.

Choosing the door she did meant she could watch over her left behind family forever - literally. There is only one way she can be freed from this land of limbo ...

It would be just like me to choose the wrong door and get stuck in limbo! Since that might happen to me, please tell me just how I can rectify that mistake, should it occur!!!

This takes us to another dimension. I like it. I felt like I was floating through it as I was reading.

Intriguing and a little unsettling, too.

Verrry intriguing. Now you have to write the whole story because I want to read more. :)

Great write, I always imagine the world on the other side to just be backwards... I mean that's what it looks like when I look in... LOL

That was really sad. But it touched me.

unfortunately we do live with the consequences of our choices. I guess that is true as well in death. Yikes!

Tina, I like where you went with this. I've had an idea in my head for a childrens story somewhat like this for some time. You set my mind racing.

Thanks for sharing your clever words!
