WALGREEN'S OFFER NEW PRESCRIPTION SAVINGS CLUB

This post brought to you by Walgreens. All opinions are 100% mine.

You may have heard in the news lately that after unsuccessful negotiations health care plan providers Express Scripts have ceased their partnership with Walgreen's?

What this means for people who are in the Walgreens and Express Script plan is they will no longer be able to use the 24 hour drive through Walgreen's for their preferred pharmacy. Instead Express wants their customers to use their online prescription mail ordering service instead.

Walgreen's tried to compromise by offering to hold their rates without an increase but Express scripts were insistent that they wanted to cut down Walgreen's reimbursement rates for each prescription below the industry average.

This has already caused problems for people who need prescriptions on the same day or need to get hold of their flu shots if they couldn't reach their doctors office on time.

In light of this Walgreen's has devised a plan of their own called the Walgreens Prescription Savings Club. For just $10 a year you can cover everyone in your immediate family including pets. This gives you discounted prices on brand-name and all generic medications, lower prices on flu shots, bonuses on Walgreen's/Nice! products and more! Even on its own a single membership of $5 gives you extremely good value for money.
